Instructor recruitment
Teach what you make.
Dynamic Arts Makerspace is looking for skilled makers, artists, and craftspeople to lead hands-on workshops in our fully equipped fabrication studio in Highlandtown, Baltimore.
We handle the business. You handle the craft.
Everything that gets between a maker and a great class — sourcing, scheduling, billing, promotion — is on us.
Materials & equipment — covered.
You don't source supplies or haul gear. We buy all materials, set up every station, and clean up after. Our shop runs CNC, laser, 3D printing, woodworking, textiles, electronics, and finishing — all professional-grade, all maintained.
Marketing & registration — covered.
Classes go on our platform, get pushed through our channels, and students register and pay through our system. You show up and teach.
Pay that respects your time.
You earn a guaranteed base for every class plus a per-student bonus that rewards full rooms. A typical two-hour class with average attendance pays $60/hr effective. (Full details below.)
Flexibility on your terms.
Teach once a month or twice a week — your call. You pick the time slots that work for you. No minimum commitment.
How it works
From application to recurring slot.
- 1
Apply
Tell us what you'd teach. No formal credentials required — we care about what you can do and whether you can explain it clearly.
- 2
Trial class
Your first class is a paid trial at the standard rate. The owner sits in, students give feedback. No commitment from either side.
- 3
Get your slot
If it's a good fit, you get a recurring spot on the schedule. We list you on the site with your bio and photo and start pushing your classes through our marketing.
- 4
Grow with us
Design new classes for our catalog ($150 curriculum development fee per accepted class, on top of teaching pay). Build a following. Hit Resident Instructor status and earn free membership with full shop access for your own projects.
Compensation
$50 base + $10 per student, every class.
The base guarantees you're always paid fairly for showing up. The per-student bonus means we're both motivated to fill seats — you share it on your socials, we push it through ours, and we both win.
| Students | Your pay | Effective hourly (2-hr class) |
|---|---|---|
| 4 (minimum to run) | $90 | $45/hr |
| 6 | $110 | $55/hr |
| 8 (full class) | $130 | $65/hr |
| 10 (max capacity) | $150 | $75/hr |
