About This Class
Ever looked at a pile of bare miniatures and felt a little intimidated about where to start? This class is your friendly on-ramp. In one relaxed 90-minute session, we'll walk through the whole miniature painting process — from bare model to tabletop-ready — with no experience required. We'll begin by priming your mini right here at the start of class, then build it up step by step: laying down clean base coats, deepening the recesses with shadows and washes, and making details pop with highlights and drybrushing. Along the way I'll share the practical tricks and shortcuts I actually use — the stuff that gets minis looking good and, more importantly, gets them done and on the table. Everything you need is provided: a 3D-printed miniature and base, brushes, paints, and a palette. Want to use your own gear? Bring it. Already have a mini you've been meaning to start? Bring one 28–32mm model and make it your first. I'm someone who occasionally likes painting minis — and by the end of this class, you can be too.
What You'll Learn
Welcome & overview (5) -> Priming (10) -> Base coating (20) -> Shadows & washes (20) -> Highlights & drybrushing (20) -> Tricks/techniques + basing (10) -> Wrap-up & cleanup (5) = 90 min. Minis and bases are 3D-printed in-house on the Anycubic resin printer ahead of the session. 90 min is on the tighter end for a Craft class; bumping to 120 min keeps the same $45 price and gives more comfortable pacing per stage if the first run feels rushed.
What to Bring
Nothing required — all supplies are provided. Optional: bring your own brushes or paints if you have favorites, and you're welcome to bring one 28–32mm miniature to paint instead of a provided one.
Materials Included
A 3D-printed miniature and base, three brushes (detail, base/standard, and drybrush), acrylic paints, primer, a palette, a water cup, and paper towels — everything needed to finish a mini.
